Head / Lead – Strategic Agriculture Business Development

About the Role

We are looking for a senior Strategic Agriculture Business Development leader to drive SUIND's agriculture vertical.

This role is for someone who deeply understands the Indian agriculture ecosystem and can convert that understanding into revenue, partnerships and market expansion. You should bring strong industry relationships, but more importantly, you should be able to turn relationships into structured business.

You will work closely with the founders, sales, operations, marketing and product teams to scale Bumblebee across crop clusters and build strategic partnerships. The role will also help identify where SUIND's broader aerial autonomy platforms can create value in agriculture, analytics, mapping and allied field applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own strategic business development for SUIND's agriculture vertical.
  • Build and execute go-to-market plans for key crop clusters and regions.
  • Develop relationships with agrochemical companies, plantations, large growers, dealers, FPOs, sugar mills, agri-input companies, institutions and government-linked organisations.
  • Identify and close high-value business opportunities for Bumblebee.
  • Build channel, dealer and partner-led growth models.
  • Work with operations to ensure customer onboarding, training and service quality.
  • Help define pricing, commercial models and partnership structures.
  • Build crop-wise business cases and ROI narratives.
  • Identify opportunities for WASP in agriculture, crop analytics, mapping and related use cases.
  • Track sales pipeline, revenue targets, collections and account progress.
  • Represent SUIND in industry forums, customer meetings, field demos and strategic discussions.
  • Provide market feedback to product, operations and leadership teams.

Requirements

  • 8–15 years of experience in agribusiness, agrochemicals, agri-inputs, agri-equipment, plantation business, agri services, agri-tech or related sectors.
  • Strong network across the agriculture ecosystem.
  • Proven experience in business development, enterprise sales, partnerships or channel building.
  • Strong understanding of crop economics, farmer behaviour, input channels and regional agricultural markets.
  • Ability to open doors, structure deals and close business.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across agricultural clusters.
  • Strong commercial orientation and target-driven mindset.

Good to Have

  • Experience with drone services, farm mechanisation, spraying, crop protection or precision agriculture.
  • Relationships with agrochemical companies, plantations, sugar mills, large agri enterprises, FPOs or government-linked bodies.
  • Experience building dealer or franchise networks.
  • Experience launching new technology products in agriculture.
  • Understanding of service-based and hardware-based business models.

You will succeed if you are not just well-connected, but execution-driven. This role needs someone who can identify the right market, build trust, structure the business model, close the deal and ensure the account scales. We are looking for someone who can help make autonomous aerial systems a mainstream tool in Indian agriculture.
