Drones flying everywhere around town has been a science-fiction image for a long time. At SUIND we do our best to make this a reality. The company was founded as a spin-off from the Robotics and Perception Group at the University of Zürich with a core vision: To unlock the potential of drones to benefit our planet and people all around the world. More and more companies are working on incredible new drone solutions in areas like transportation, agriculture or search and rescue. Looking at these innovations, we realized that full potential of such drones will only be unlocked once they are safe enough to fly fully autonomous missions even in urban areas. That is why we decided not to build just another drone but to enable others to invent innovative drone solutions by providing them with the best possible safety systems, allowing them to focus on their mission and giving them peace of mind while flying their drones.

Developing such solutions, requires not only hard work and dedication, but also a deep level of understanding and experience in specific areas. We have built a team with extensive expertise in computer vision, SLAM, motion planning and control. Furthermore, developing algorithms that are tailored to run on computationally lightweight drone hardware, while not losing their potency, has become one of our specialities.
